What vibe coding is, and what it is not

Vibe coding describes building software by describing what you want to an AI coding assistant and iterating on the result, often with little manual typing. Used well, it turns an idea into a clickable prototype in hours instead of weeks. Used carelessly, it produces software that looks finished but hides bugs, security holes and code nobody understands. Where it needs extra care

It may also be inconsistent from one section to another, which makes it harder to maintain. We treat generated code as a draft written by a fast but fallible junior colleague: useful, and never trusted without review.
